The End

About this story

About this story
This story is about a butterfly named Yar who goes on a little adventure. Yar is attracted to a large, round object shining in the sky and sets out on a journey to check it out. Yar flies higher and higher to get closer to it.

Ultimately, Yar gives up on finding out what it is and returns home. In this story, I believe the most important words are those of the snail, Pai, at the end: "Welcome home." Yar followed own curiosity and embarked on an adventure. The height Yar actually flew may not seem significant to us. Yar excitedly tells Pai about her little adventure, which for Yar was a great journey and a delightful memory. And Pai says to Yar, "Welcome home." Pai is simply happy that Yar returned safely and had a good time.

As a child, I was taught in school that "you should not easily quit something you have started." For them, it was more important to continue and achieve than to try something. Of course, I know too that continuing is very important and amazing. But there were so many things I wanted to try. I could not keep doing all of them, and there were many things that I got bored of doing. At that time, I was always afraid to start something new.

Yar's adventure is not a tale of failure. In reality, there's no need to judge it as a success or failure. Yar went, returned, and the experience was enjoyable for Yar. That's all that matters. Similarly, there's no need to judge my actions as successes or failures. This story always reminds me of that. And because I have people who always welcome me back, I can embark on new adventures.
